The listed audiences are those for whom the course is especially recommended, but courses are not exclusive to them and are open to everyone. In fact, most of our workshops are built around the collective sharing of participants’ experiences and having a variety of profiles enriches the learning process and is highly encouraged!

Please note: this course is for lower secondary teachers (ages 11–15, ISCED 2).

Description

This course offers an in-depth exploration and comparison of European educational systems through sharing, reflection, and direct lessons observation.

Participants will share and compare how different or similar education across Europe is and how different countries approach issues such as curriculum design, teacher training, inclusion, assessment, and lifelong learning.

In this course, Secondary teachers will have the opportunity to discover the details of the Croatian educational system by observing it in practice, and how the teachers are supported in following and adapting teaching to the newest trends in education.

Participants will also learn about staff and learners’ daily life, school management, organization of lessons, projects, and extracurricular activities, which make each Croatian school special and unique.

In fact, during the week, teachers will visit a variety of Croatian high schools, each selected for its innovative practice.

During the visits, participants will:

  • Observe lessons, projects, and extracurricular activities;
  • Engage in guided discussions with teachers, school leaders, and students;
  • Take part in interactive workshops run by the hosting schools, focusing on topics such as the Erasmus+ and eTwinning projects, digital tools and AI in education, inclusion, formative assessment, interdisciplinarity, or sustainable development;
  • Share their own school experiences and present examples of good practice to foster mutual learning and to make the visit more interactive, collaborative, and international.

By the end of the course, participants will be familiar with the Croatian educational system, history, and culture.

They will have a portfolio of good practices and teaching ideas observed during the visits.

Moreover, they will be ready to make connections with the visited schools or other Croatian schools to initiate future international mobility and Erasmus+ projects (e.g., KA1 and KA2).
